The fellowship program is designed to provide extensive clinical experience in the operative and non-operative management of shoulder and elbow disorders. The training provides an opportunity to learn from all members of the NYU – Hospital Joint Diseases shoulder and elbow service. Therefore, a variety of pathologies are encountered and addressed. Advanced arthroscopic and open surgical techniques are employed to treat traumatic, athletic, and degenerative conditions of the shoulder and elbow. The fellow is expected to participate in over 350 procedures. The fellow is also expected to actively participate in formal didactic programs and conferences provided for the orthopaedic residents. Finally, the fellow is expected to complete at least three high quality research projects that can be published in a peer reviewed journal. These requirements must be completed by the end of the fellowship year. |
